"Massage is the touch of the physical and energetic body with a healing purpose."
~ Dr. Cheryl Schwartz, DVM

Four Paws Five Directions

Benefits Of Massage

Picture
The beneficial effects of massage can include improved flexibility, body awareness, muscle efficiency, and general well-being. Massage has also been shown to increase circulation of the blood and lymph; provide pain relief through endorphin release; and enhance recovery from illness, injury, or surgery. Massage can also provide stress reduction and emotional calming. In the competitive animal, regular massage can greatly improve performance.

Would Your Dog or Horse Benefit From Massage?

Picture
Massage can improve the daily lives of all companion animals through general maintenance of their body condition and emotional state. Massage can provide additional benefits to sporting or competition animal as they recover from the increased physical pressures placed on them. Pets who have recently undergone surgery or experienced an injury can see their recovery enhanced through massage. Massage can also assist pets through transitions, whether it be a change in daily routine, or when their time has come to pass from this life.

In Partnership With Your Veterinarian

Picture
Massage is never a replacement for veterinary care and/or treatment, but rather a complement to it. If your pet is currently under veterinary care, please consult with your veterinarian to insure massage is an appropriate and safe option at this time.
