The Equine Bodywork Session

What does equine bodywork do?
  • During the bodywork sessions, I use an interactive technique that allows me to find where the horse has accumulated tension in its body. I will then work with the horse to release that tension, enabling it to move more freely. Once the horse has released this tension, we will see improved performance, mobility, suppleness, and comfort.
What can I expect during the equine bodywork session?
  • Before the session:
    • Please have the horse in its stall and groomed.
    • Please remove food and hay from the stall. Eating will interfere with the horse’s responses during the session.
    • Please plan to stick around during the session. I will do my best to explain what I’m seeing as I go, but most likely I will give you an overview once I’m finished.
  • During the session:
    • The initial bodywork session can take up to an hour and a half. I work on the horse’s time and allow it to process what I am doing as I go.
  • After the session:
    • Plan to either hand walk your horse for a bit afterwards or, if possible, turn-out is best.
    • Allow the horse to rest 24 hours before asking it to perform.

Costs: $85/session
I service all of East Tennessee, however I reserve the right to charge an additional mileage fee at my discretion. You will be notified of the fee at the time of appointment booking.
